New saluki litter plans
We are so excited to share with all of you our plans for the new saluki litter that we hope will happen late spring 2022. The mother will be our beutiful Oonah (C.I.B., DK CH, SE CH, ESH 2018, KBH W 2017, ST W 2017, CPH JW 2016 Amal Hayati Oonah Nadira Al Jameelah). We hope that she will get into heat in March. And the father to be is beautiful Milan (SE CH, DK CH Lags Latifha Laurian). Oonah is already health tested but we will do a new heart test as the old one is almost one year…

War in Ukraine
We would like to say that our family strongly condemns the war Putin started in Ukraine. War is NEVER OK and we are doing what we can to support the people of Ukraine by donations to the humanitarian organizations active in Ukraine. Let there be peace and love and not killing and occupation of an independent country.

Home office and its lovely (dis)advantages
I love working from home! Whenever I feel cold I can use one of my dogs as a personal heater. This is Bianca. Usually she lays down in my lap but this time she pushed herself under my arm and behind my back where she fell in sleep. Behind to the left in the picture you can find Lo laying in her favourite bed and in front of her Bianca’s mother Heidi.

These two…
Almost weekend and I am spending my evening with these two lovely girls by my side planning for this year’s dog shows. With COVID restrictions gone in Denmark and here in Sweden we hope that there will be larger number to participate in this year compared with what was there the last two.

Heat
As you all know by now we are waiting for Oonah to start with her heat. So as soon as I see a drop of blood on the floor I get excited. Is it her? Are we there now? So when I saw the first drop of blood, two weeks ago, I already saw Oonah’s and Milan’s puppies being born. Unfortunately it was not her blood, it was Heidi’s. A couple of days went by and then new blood drops and my hopes woke up again just to disappear in a puff of smoke minutes later. It was not Oonah,…

Happy, healthy hearts
Starting the weekend with some happy news. Today both Milan and Oonah gott their hearts checked by the heart specialist Torkel Falk. The result: they both have healthy hearts! As this was the great opportunity for Milan and Oonah to meet for the first time we went to this beautiful dog park nearby and let them spend some time together. They both liked eachother from the first sight which made me glad as I really want all our litters to be product of mutual affection between the couple. Now we are waiting for Oonah to get in heat so that…

Evening play
One evening, maybe a week ago, we happen to meet our neighbours’ lovely young dog Milou. It was fun to watch him play with our young girls.

What a beautiful day
After a week full of meetings for both David and me, we could not resist the urge to get out and get some sunlight when we realized that we both had no meetings between 14.00 and 15.00. Sun was shining and you could feel the warmth coming from it just like it was a promise that the spring will be here soon and with it new adventures.

Possible colors of planned litter
There are many things to look for when planning a litter. Health of the ancestors, loss of ancestors and inbreeding coefficient, male’s and female’s strengths and weaknesses and so on. All these things we look at prior to deciding the male. But once this has been decided and the loooong waiting for the female to get in the heat starts, we look forward to things like for example the possible colours of the puppies. So in this post we will share some basics about colours and which colours of the little ones we hope for. There are many genes that…
